Doggie-style, oral sex with braces, fetishes, and sadomasochistic sex play

11 Year Olds To Get “Professional” Instruction in NYC Schools

Show & Tell Should Be A Hoot

Hat Tip - The Other McCain

As the father of five - now adults with children of their own - I have some experience in discussing sex with youngsters.  Having said and experienced that, I was rather stunned to read this post from Todd Starnes at Fox Live Talk.

“New York City 11-year-olds will soon be learning sex education from workbooks that include instruction on “mutual masturbation, French kissing, oral and anal sex, and “intercourse using a condom and an oil-based lubricant.”

The shocking revelations were uncovered in “recommended” workbooks reviewed by The New York Post.

Sex education will become mandatory in New York City middle and high schools next year.  Students will be required to take one semester of sex education in sixth or seventh grades and one in ninth or tenth grades.

The Dept. of Education stressed “that abstinence is the best way to avoid pregnancy and STD/HIV.”

But abstinence is certainly not stressed in some of the materials obtained by the newspaper.

According to the Post, some of the assignments include having teenagers research a route from the school to a clinic that provides birth control and STD exams, visiting stores to jot down condom brands, prices and features such as lubrication.

One of the preferred resources for students is Columbia University’s website, “Go Ask Alice,” the Post reported. That site includes discussions on topics ranging from “doggie-style,” oral sex with braces, fetishes, and “sadomasochistic sex play.”

Read the entire New York Post story by clicking here.

Honest, I’m not an old foggie about this subject matter, but I think some of the “topics” might not be age-appropriate for 11 year olds.

What say you?

UPDATE:  The workbooks for older students direct them to a website run by Columbia University, which explores topics such as sexual positions, porn stars, and bestiality. The lessons explain risky sexual behavior and suggest students go to stores to jot condom brands and prices.

  1. I have to say that "oral sex with braces" gave me a chuckle, as I thought, "Hmm, that could be painful for one of them". Then I realized that it really is a serious subject, but one of many that in my opinion are not appropriate for an 11 year old.

  2. People who subscribe to a blog tend to agree with the blog writer, so it's not surprising to hear the many comments suggesting this education "service" might not be appropriate for 11 year olds - especially the "Doggie-style, oral sex with braces, fetishes, and sadomasochistic sex play". The Facebook commenters were particularly aghast at much of what they were reading.

I won't bother posting them all here. Suffice to say this idea was not met with resounding approval.

Sadomasochistic sex play? For 11 year old kids?

That kinda makes my head esplode.
