Tim Tebow – Born a Preacher

The Tim Tebow Story–

More than 24 years ago, Pam and her husband Bob were serving as missionaries in the Philippines and praying for a fifth child. Pam contracted amoebic dysentery, an infection of the intestine caused by a parasite found in contaminated food or drink.  She went into a coma and was treated with strong antibiotics before they discovered she was pregnant.  Doctors suggested that she consid…er aborting t…he baby for her own safety and told her that the medicines had caused irreversible damage to her baby.  She refused the abortion and cited her Christian faith as the reason for her hope that her son would be born without the devastating disabilities physicians predicted.

While pregnant, Pam nearly lost their baby four times but refused to consider abortion.  She recalled making a pledge to God with her husband: If you will give us a son, we’ll name him Timothy and we’ll make him a preacher.

Pam ultimately spent the last two months of her pregnancy in bed and eventually gave birth to a healthy baby boy August 14, 1987.  Pam’s youngest son is indeed a preacher.  He preaches in prisons, makes hospital visits, and serves with his father’s ministry in the Philippines.  He also plays football. Pam’s son is Tim Tebow.

Broncos vs. Patriots
Tonight following the Saints and 49er’s

Dell’s Bottom Line:

As usual, the Broncos will be decided underdogs tonight when they play the Patriots at Foxboro, Massachusetts.  The Broncos are always the underdog, but have found a way to keep the score close and then pull out victories as the clock ticks down to end the game.

Tebow usually gets all of the credit, but he’d be the first one to tell you that the Broncos are a good team and it’s that teamwork that has led to the big-game wins, not any individual performer.

The forecast for cold and very windy conditions is certainly not conducive to the passing game in football, so we really shouldn't expect either Tim Tebow or Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady to be airing it out.  The kicking game will also be similarly affected.

One thing that I’m absolutely sure of - tonight we’ll see one team win a football game.  The other team will lose a football game.  The outcome will have NO affect what-so-ever on the faith in God that any or all of the individual players have or don’t have!  In victory or defeat, each will thank God, in his own way, for their blessings.  And that’s as it should be.

Many of tonight’s players - including Tim Tebow - will praise the Lord God Almighty.  Perhaps we would be wise to join them.

God Bless America!
